DCDB PANEL
A DCDB (Direct Current Distribution Box) is an essential component in a solar photovoltaic (PV) system, designed to safely collect, combine, and distribute the DC power generated from solar panels to the inverter.
The DCDB acts as a central protection and isolation unit between the solar array and inverter. It combines multiple solar panel strings into a single output and ensures safe transmission of DC power while protecting the system from electrical faults, surges, and overload conditions.
Key Functions:
- Combines multiple PV string outputs into a single DC output
- Provides protection against overcurrent, short circuit, and reverse polarity
- Protects inverter from lightning and surge voltage
- Enables safe isolation and maintenance of the solar system
- Reduces cable complexity and improves system reliability
Main Components:
- DC MCB / MCCB or Isolator
- DC Fuse (gPV type)
- Surge Protection Device (SPD)
- Busbars and terminal blocks
- MC4 connectors / cable glands
- Weatherproof enclosure (IP65/IP66)
